What is a “Fender” – A cushioning device, such as a bundle of rope or a piece of timber, used on the side of a vessel or dock to absorb impact or friction.

Rather serious definition, fact is we need these things to protect the Yacht, from other yachts, docks, jetty’s, in fact from just about anything. We will need to tie them to the yacht before we encounter the potentially collision area and then once we leave that area we need to take them off and stow them. As we will have quite a lot of them and we will dock close to other yachts we would probably need them on both sides.

The proper way of tying them to the yacht will be demonstrated on Day 2, watch this space.
